| Corbels.....
Patterns:
Several decorative patterns are cut on a
regular basis. Custom patterns are not a problem --- our
design or yours!
Standard Pattern:
The most
common pattern used due to simplicity. As the corbel
seasons, check and splits have minimal affect on appearance.

Ball Pattern:
Offers some
variation to the standard pattern. As this corbel seasons,
check and splits may have a tendency to affect appearance due to
the ball. The base of the corbel shown below should be
approximately 2" longer than the post it is sitting on.
Example: 6" X 8" full corbel sitting on a 6" viga
or 6" x 6" timber should be an 8" base.

Wilkenson Pattern:
More elaborate
pattern using similar cuts from both the standard and ball
patterns. Again, this pattern has a tendency for checks and
splits to affect appearance.
Dimensions 4 X 6 thru 12 X
12:
Note -
Dimensions on corbels are width and height. Example: 6 X 8
corbel is 6" wide, 8" tall. The width of the
corbel should be the same size or larger than the size of the post
below it and the header above it. The height of the corbel
is a variable.
Length - Half
corbel 24", full corbel 36". Other lengths
available. Lap cuts available for corner/angle
applications. |
